PRIVACY

Privacy

Plain language about what Black Lungs stores, what stays on your device, and what remains public race history.

Membership and account

When you sign in or apply for Membership, Black Lungs may store identity details needed for your account — such as your display name, email associated with Apple or Google sign-in, membership status, and linked sign-in providers. Membership still requires team approval; signing in alone does not grant membership or Cabot app access.

Participation

Season responses such as roster-call interest, participant confirmation, and later assignments may be stored so captains and Launch Director can run the Cabot campaign. Those records are operational team information, not public website content.

Published History

Cabot Trail Relay results published by race timing are a different data class. Team finishes, runner names as published, and leg splits in our History archive are drawn from public race results. Associating that history with your Membership account stays inside member surfaces such as My Black Lungs.

App and Your Preparation

With your permission, the native app may read Apple HealthKit running data to support optional Your Preparation reflections. Under the current architecture, HealthKit-derived preparation analysis remains on your device. Workout records, heart-rate detail, and preparation observations are not uploaded to the website, are not visible to teammates, and are not available to CAPCOM or Launch Director.

My Mission event details you choose to save (event name, date, distance, optional location) may be stored with your account so Your Preparation has context. That is separate from HealthKit workout data.

What is not shared with teammates

Teammates do not see your sign-in credentials, HealthKit workouts, preparation observations, or private account administration. Shared campaign pages show team-season information, not your personal Health data.
