How to read Value Added
Value Added compares each runner to the Black Lungs baseline on the exact legs they ran. It is descriptive context from historical results, not a prediction tool.
Weighted Value Added is the primary ranking metric because it adjusts for leg distance. Total Value Added shows cumulative impact across all logged distance.
Quick read: positive values mean faster than baseline on those legs; negative values mean slower than baseline.
Read it in three steps
1) Set filters to the runner/year group you want. 2) Check the Weighted Value Added ranking first. 3) Use the detail rows to see which legs drove that result.
